He was the son of Abial & Elizabeth (Clark) Lamb.

He married Hannah Taylor, 4 Dec 1699, Roxbury, Massachusetts.

He joined the Framingham Church in 1710. In 1713 he, with his young family, became one of the first 30 families to settle in Oxford, Massachusetts.

When they drew numbers for their dwelling lots he drew number 25. So, he was 25th to choose the location of his dwelling lot. (Click on map at right to enlarge.)

He was a highway surveyor and in 1722 was chosen to be constable. In 1728 he became a selectman. In 1732 he sold one-half of his real estate in Oxford to his fourth child Abial.

He was the father of eight children; Sarah, Caleb, Ebenezer, Abial, Lydia, Elizabeth, William and Samuel.
