Mrs. Sophia Boggs Palmer was the youngest daughter of the late ex-Governor Boggs of Missouri and the late Panthea Grant Boone Boggs, the latter a daughter of Jesse Boone son of Daniel Boone, and was the last living member of this pioneer family. She was married to the late James M. Palmer Sr. at Rosa Belle Farm, the old Boggs place at Trubody Station.

The following children were the fruit of this union: Lillburn Boggs Palmer (deceased), Mary Emma Palmer, Judge James M. Palmer, Mrs. H. B. Migliavacca, Harry Palmer, Mrs. H. S. Scott, Mrs. Minerva Grayson, Mrs. J. L. White, Wm. A. Palmer and Chas. Palmer (deceased). A granddaughter, Vera, Grayson, and two grandsons, Harold B. Migliavacca and Provis Palmer.
