Flight Officer Samuel Angelini served with the 439th Squadron (R.C.A.F.) flying Typhoon Fighter Bombers. His aircraft was shot down while returning to Eindhoven after a Reconnaissance flight at St. Vith with 3 other 439 Squadron aircraft. At 09:45 hrs they mixed with nearly 20 Focke Wulf 190's. F/O. Angelini was found dead in his aircraft on the 3rd January. His loss was claimed by JG6.

His parents were Alexander and Carmela Angelini and he had five brothers and three sisters. He married Gertrude Leslie Turcotte. They had one daughter, Mary Angelini, who never got to meet her father.
He enlisted in the RCAF on 15 August, 1942 and received his commission and Pilot Badge on 15 October, 1943.
