B. Anne Briggs, of Clifton Park, died on June 9, 2009 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

She was born in New York City and was the daughter of the late Charles Francis and Charlotte Carlene Van-Brocklin Heaphy.

Anne was a Clifton Park resident for over 35 years.

As a young girl, Anne resided on Riverside Drive in NYC; later, the family moved to Pelham Manor, Westchester County where she graduated from Pelham Memorial High School.

She also graduated from Lasell College in Newton, Mass. and did a year of studies at the Marmore School on Park Ave. in NYC.

Anne was a debutante and member of the Huguenot Presbyterian Church in Pelham Manor, the Pelham Country Club, the Junior League of Pelham, the Daughters of the American Revolution "DAR" and provided many volunteer hours at the Junior League Cancer Clinic.

She was the wife of the late John Calvin Briggs II, who she married in 1955.

She was a member of the Christ Community Reformed Church in Clifton Park.

She is the mother of Charlotte-Anne Briggs King of Clifton Park, Diane Elizabeth Briggs-Belanger of Clifton Park; sister of Charles Francis Heaphy and Carlene Stevens, both of Mass., and the late John David Heaphy and Rev. Richard Heaphy; grandmother of John Gregory and Diana Elizabeth Belanger, Anne VanBrocklin King and Emily Elizabeth King, all of Clifton Park; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Anne was a descendant of the Tiffany and Dana families who settled in New England in the 1600s.

Inurnment of Mr. and Mrs. Briggs will take place with full military honors in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
