Rev. Powell Smith, minister of the First Christian Church, officiated at the rites held Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Smith Funeral Home for Judge Louis Frederick Fishback, 90, who died at the home of his niece, Mrs. George Bollman, on the Fredericksburg Road, Monday.
A native of Fort Smith, Ark., he was the son of the late Gov. and Mrs. William Fishback of Arkansas and had served as a judge in Fort Smith, after a brilliant career as an attorney. After his retirement, 18 years ago, he came to Kerrville to make his home with his sister, the late Mrs. J. S. Wheless. After her death he continued to make his home with Mrs. Wheless' daughter. He was a distinguished looking man, and his activities were that of a much younger man. He had been quite ill for the last several weeks.
His survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise Fishback of Jefferson; two sons, L. F. Fishback Jr., and William Fishback; several nieces and nephews, among them being Mrs. Bollman of this city, and W. M. and Randolph Wheless of Houston and Sidney Wheless of Austin.
Pallbearers were T. T. Middleton, Foster Jones, Robert Cray, J. Y. Cooter, LeRoy Tolle and James Hill.
