Beloved daughter of Silas and Virginia Juliet (nee Lard) Woodson.

Mary Alice Woodson married Jefferson Carter Hosea on 18 Jul 1893 in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri.

Mary's interment card indicates she died on 8 Apr 1956 even though the death certificate indicates 8 May 1956

The following was a suggestion from Donna Hosea Liles:

"Obit:

HOSEA -- Mrs. Mary Woodson Hosea, age 85, died Tuesday in a local hospital. A native of St. Joseph, Mo., she was the daughter of Gov. Silas Woodson, the first Democratic Governor of Missouri after the Civil War. Survivors: Sons, Robert C. Hosea and Col. S.W. Hosea; daughters, Mrs. C. J. Dalziel and Miss Rachel M. Hosea; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Riebe Chapel. Services Friday morning at 8:45 o'clock at the Riebe Chaped followed by Requiem Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church to be offered by the Rev. W. Schneider of Fredericksburg. Pallbearers: David A. Hamlett, R. L. Warren, Jack Frazier, Joh Carhart, Robert E. Seng and Guy P. Allison. Interment in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery. Arrangements by Riebe Funeral Home."
