The burial ground is in deplorable condition. The area is overgrown. There is no sign. There are granite posts with no rails connecting them. The monument bases are present. No stones are visible, but they might possibly be buried under the leaves, branches, briars, and foliage.
The Trustees of Reservations mention the history of the property on their "European settlers had different uses for the land. Pitch pine was processed into tar, herring and alewife were caught during their spring runs, and bogs were mined for iron ore then planted with cranberries. The land was finally settled by Uriah Nickerson in the 1830s. The Lyman house, located across the street from the parking lot, was built in 1840 by the Nickerson family."
This burial place is referenced to in the book "Old Cemeteries of Southeastern Massachusetts" by Charles M Thatcher as "Cemetery near Wareham & Bourne lines - Plymouth". All of his entries have been posted.
