Jean Charlotte Lundgren Anderson, the daughter of Lawrence and Eunice (Requist) Bergren was born May 12, 1933 on a farm southeast of Red Oak, Iowa, located across from the Pittsburg school. She passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Accura Healthcare, Stanton, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 23 days.
Jean was baptized, confirmed and attended Sunday school at Mamrelund Lutheran Church. She attended Pittsburg school for two years, then with her family moved to her grandfather's Charlie Requist farm west of Stanton and attended Fairview school for two years. Jean graduated from Stanton High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Junior Lundgren on September 2, 1951 at Stanton. To this union three children were born, Douglas, Michael and Julie. Junior died on November 14, 1976. Jean then attended LPN school at Iowa Western College in Clarinda. After graduation she worked 23 years at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. On July 2, 1989, Jean married Robert C. Anderson of Stanton. She was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Jean was a caring and kind person who was always willing to help.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior; two brothers: Merlin and Leland Bergren; two nephews: Larry and Roy Bergren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Robert C. Anderson of Stanton, IA; children: Douglas (Peg) Lundgren of Stanton, IA, Michael (Gaye) Lundgren of Stanton, IA and Julie (Bob) Kixmiller of Walnut, IA; step-son, Eric (Shelley) Anderson of Stanton, IA; grandchildren: Jill (Michael) Sanchez of Lenexa, KS, Dana (Dan) Gazda of League City, TX, Allen (Libby) Lundgren of Winterset, IA, Carole Lundgren (Tim Wade) of Seattle WA, Teresa Lundgren (Tom Small) of Brooklyn, NY, Ben Kixmiller of Johnston, IA and Breanna Kixmiller of Ames, IA; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Addison and Michael Allen Sanchez of Lenexa, KS, Chloe and Brooklyn Gazda of League City, TX, Riggs and Gloria Lundgren of Winterset, IA; step-grandchildren: Tanner Anderson of Stanton, IA, Ben Ingersoll of Villisca, IA, Beth (Daniel) Frettim of Madrid, IA; step-great-grandchildren: Trace, Beau, Aiden and Addison; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
