John Heider is a retired teacher who enjoys historical themes and is currently involved in cemetery preservation. He received the Studs Turkel Humanities Service Award for preserving abandoned cemeteries and the Illinois Preservation and Conservation Association recognized him for restoring Piatt County cemeteries. John's work has been featured on Heartland Highways (WEIU), R.F.D. America and he is available for consultation, lectures, workshops, and preservation work.
