John Paul Ahlstrom, 63, of Ashburn, died Sept. 16. He was born May 20, 1946, in Spokane, WA, to John Merel Ahlstrom and Frances Elisabeth Winkler Ahlstrom. As a child in a military family, he enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to live in a variety of places, including Spokane, WA; Fairbanks, AK; San Bernardino, CA; the Philippines; and Montgomery, AL. He attended the University of Alabama. He relocated to Virginia in 1996, moving to Ashburn in 2000. He is survived by his sister Aleta Ahlstrom. Services were held Sept. 22 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg.
