Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer on 3 May 1855 p3: "At Elizabethtown, Kentucky April 12, W. S. English, a merchant, had a fight with Thos. D. Brown, clerk of the Circuit Court---Brown was killed by a charge from a shot gun in the hands of English."
