Donald E. Hall, of Kellogg, died Thursday evening, August 30, at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha.

Donald Eugene Hall was born in Theilman on August 12, 1929, to Thomas Robert and Mary (McDonough) Hall.

He graduated from Plainview High School in 1946. On October 19, 1955, Donald married Bernice Schmit in Eyota. He enlisted in the Air Force on Feb. 24, 1956, and was an airplane mechanic stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas and Tacoma, Wash. Following his discharge in May of 1960, He and Bernice moved to a farm south of Plainview. Along with farming, Donald also hauled bulk milk for the Elgin Creamery. They sold the farm in 1978 and moved into Plainview. Donald worked at the High Plains Co-op, Kreofsky Building Supply and did handyman work. In 1992, he retired and they moved to the river near Kellogg, and in 2003 moved into Kellogg.

He was a member of the Plainview American Legion. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting woodworking, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include; his wife, Bernice, of Kellogg; four daughters, Phyllis (Rick) Baier of Rochester, Judy (Michael) Griffin of Oakdale, Minn., Marcella (Bruce) Kahn of Plainview and Teresa (Scott) Rollinger of Kellogg; three sons, Donald (Lisa) Hall of Elgin, Thomas Hall of Plainview and Daniel Hall of Stillwater, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, John (Maxine) Hall of Plainview and Julian (Janice) Hall of Aransas Pass, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John, a sister and five brothers.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg with Father Thomas Cook officiating. The burial is at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Conception with military grave side rites conducted by the Plainview American Legion. The visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
