He was a graduate of Edward Little High School class of 1938 and Bates College class of 1942. He was active in football and swimming.
He taught chemistry and physics at Lisbon High School from 1965 to 1978 where he was a faculty advisor to the ski club.
Prior to his retirement he was a member of the National Ski Patrol, serving at several Maine ski areas. An avid sailor he was a former member and commodore of the Taylor Pond Yacht Club.
Upon his retirement he became interested in ham radio and was a member of Yankee Amateur Radio Club and the Androscoggin Amateur Radio Club.
He is survived by his wife Claire of Auburn, ME; one son Andrew P White and one daughter Mrs John (Sue) Deroche of Auburn, ME; five grandchildren; also survived by one brother John W White of Minot, ME; two sisters Mrs Samuel (Jane) Stoddard of Windham, ME; Mrs Edmund (Sally) Byrkit of Boulder, CO.
He is predeceased by a brother Harold S White Jr who died in February.
