On board the steamboat "Little Rock" on the Arkansas River, on the 27th December, Mrs. Rebecca Nowland, mother-in-law of Wm. S. Fulton, Esq., Secretary of this Territory, died in the 65th year of her age. She was born in Cecil County, Maryland, emigrated to the West in 1820, and has resided in Florence, Alabama for the last 12 years, and, at the time of her decease, was on her way to visit her son, Cap. E. W. B. Nowland, at Fort Gibson.
