Norlyn A. Moberg, 74, of Barron, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 1994, at The Clairemont in Eau Claire.
She was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Barron, to Martin and Selma (Hanson) Anderson. She grew up in Barron and graduated from Barron High School in 1938. Norlyn attended a business college in Eau Claire. She worked as a bookkeeper with her family at M.L. Anderson & Sons for several years and later as a bookkeeper at the Federal Land Bank office in Barron for many years.
Norlyn married Thorsten R. Moberg June 30, 1943, in Barron. He and his twin brother, Thoreld, operated Moberg Electric Motor Shop in Barron for many years.
She enjoyed fishing and spending time at their cottage on Chain of Lakes near New Auburn.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Barron and was an active member of the church choir. As a member of the ladies auxiliary at Barron Memorial Medical Center she spent many years as a volunteer.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynette (Glenn) Shields of Eau Claire; two brothers, Norman Anderson and Carsten Anderson, both of Barron; two granddaughters, Barbara (James) Polden and Julie Shields; and two great-grandsons, Andrew Polden and Michael Polden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thorsten, and a sister, Harriet Edson.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at First Lutheran Church in Barron, with the Revs. Chaitram Prashad and Rodney Bringen officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, also in Barron.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday (today) at Rausch-Rockman Funeral chapel in Barron.
