Electric Motors Dies
Funeral services were held Tuesday for Thorsten R. Moberg, 77, of Barron, who died Saturday in Rochester, Minn. The services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Barron with the Rev. James Sjolie and Rev. Chaitram Prashad officiating. Burial took place in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
Mr. Moberg was born April 29, 1912 at Taylors Falls, Minn. He grew up in the Taylors Falls area and moved to Barron in 1938. He married Norlyn Anderson in Barron on June 30, 1943. Mr. Moberg and his twin brother, Thoreld, opened Moberg Electric Shop in 1938 and operated the business until retirement in 1977. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Norlyn of Barron; one daughter, Lynette Shields of Eau Claire; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Holger of Taylors Falls, Minn.; and two sisters, Margaret Rauk of North St. Paul, Minn., and Ruth Odegard of LeMars, Iowa.
