The once fine homeplace on Old Hillsboro Road south of Forest Home in Williamson Co. TN was the home of Samuel Perkins. He was the grandson of Samuel Fearn Perkins of Triune and on his mother's side the grandson of Newton Cannon, Governor of Tennessee.
Samuel Perkins and his brothers were all Confederate soldiers. After the war they were prominent citizens in Williamson Co. His father sold him 540 acres of land for five dollars. Mr. Perkins operated this splendid farm land until his death.
Samuel and Theresa were the parents of nice children , many of whose descendants reside in and around Franklin today. When the homeplace burned dec 4, 1969 another landmark was removed from our midst.
