Barbara A. (Stanley) Gibson Died - April 2, 2012 Framingham, MA - Barbara A. (Stanley) Gibson, 67, a longtime Framingham resident, died on Monday April 2, 2012 peacefully with her family at her side, at the MetroWest Medical Center, after a three year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Douglas P. Gibson. Born in Framingham, daughter of Sophie M. (Sakovicz) Stanley of Framingham and the late Joseph Stanley, who died in 1996. Barbara was a graduate of Marian High in Framingham, Class of 1962 and the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Class of 1966. Besides living in Framingham, she had also resided in Atlanta, GA and Thompson, CT. She had been employed at the S.S. Pierce Company in Boston and as a vice-president of quality control and administration for Store Brand Management Inc. in Atlanta, GA. Barbara was an avid thoroughbred horse owner for twenty-five years and had many Graded Stakes winners. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by one stepson, Douglas R. Gibson of San Antonio; TX; two stepdaughters, Sharon Lee Gibson of New Orleans, LA and Kerry Lynn Marcotte of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Joseph J. Stanley and his wife Beverly of Princeton, NJ; one sister, Mary Ellen Wyman and her husband Richard of Framingham, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Richard Stanley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Stephen's Church, 251 Concord Street, Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will take place in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham will be on Monday April 9, 2012. from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
