In the full growth and stature of a man.
His three wifes beside him. He is interred in the ground with a large and imposing monument to his memory, but each of hiswife are buried in box-like sarcophagus above the ground.
War Record: War of 1812 - Private in Capt. James McEwen's Company, 2nd Regiment Tennessee Volunteers (Col Thomas Harte Benton) from December 10, 1812 to April 20 1813; first lieutenant in Capt. Christopher E. McEwen's Company, 2nd Reg West Tennessee Volunteers (Col. Wm. Pillow) Sept. 26,1813 to Dec.10, 1813, Brig. Gen Wm. Hall's Brigade, Major Gen. Andrew Jackson's Army. By his own sttemnt participated in the Battle of Talladega, Ala. Creek War, Nov. 9, 1813.
Matthew Delamere Cooper was the son of Capt. Robert Cooper and Jane Hamilton.
He served in 1824 as Deputy Grand Master when President Andrew Jackson was the Most Worshipful Grand Master; and in 1825 elected Grand Master and was re-elected in 1826 and served until 1827.
