EVELYN KINNIBURGH
1915 - 2007

Evelyn Cecilia Kinniburgh of Taber, beloved wife of the late D.W. (Bill) Kinniburgh, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the age of 91 years.
Evelyn was born in Warner, Alberta on April 2, 1915, the fifth of eight children of George and Lucy Gruenwald. She received her schooling in Warner and later attended the Calgary Normal School where she trained as a teacher. Evelyn began her teaching career at Hudson School and later taught two generations of students at L.T. Westlake School in Taber over a period of some thirty years.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1979 and daughter Marion Williams in 1982.
Evelyn in survived by three sons - Donald of Edmonton, Dr. Robert (Sharon McCulloch) of Lethbridge and Timothy (Adele Thurston) of Edmonton; son-in-law Spencer (Linda) Williams of Oakville, Ontario and daughter-in-law Madeleine Kinniburgh of Lethbridge. She will also be missed by grandchildren Dr. Robert (Shannon) Kinniburgh Jr., Nicole (Maher) Kinniburgh, Daniel (Heather), Paul and Peter (Julie) Williams and Colleen (Dave) Coxson and Brooke and Kent Kinniburgh as well as seven great grandchildren. Evelyn is also survived by her brother Dick Gruenwald and sister Dorothy Lacey, both of Lethbridge; sister-in-law Enid Kinniburgh of Olds and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a long time active member of St. Augustine's Catholic Parish in Taber serving for many years as an organist with the church choirs and was a member of the C.W.L. She also taught piano to many young people in Taber and district.
Following a stroke in 1995 Evelyn was blessed with many faithful and devoted neighbours and caregivers in Taber and with their support and her own determination she was able to live quite independently in her own home until the summer of 2005. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to Nicole for the loving care she has given her grandmother in her home in Lethbridge during the last few months of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for Prayers at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Taber on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:30 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS, Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
