Plainfield – Eugene P. Mailloux, 81, of May Street, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, in Norwich. He was the loving husband of Alice (Long) Mailloux; they were married for 60 years. Born in Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late George and Dora (Bilodeau) Mailloux.

Mr. Mailloux worked as a maintenance foreman for 27 years at Kofkoff Egg Farm, before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by his sons, Eugene Mailloux and his wife Betty Ann of Dover, FL, Robert Mailloux of Plainfield, Michael Mailloux and his wife Doreen of Brooklyn; his daughters, Patricia Lajeunesse and her husband Roger of Dayville, Elaine Tardinian and her husband James of Columbus, OH, Dawn Allard and her husband Phillip of Moosup; his former daughter-in-law, Peggy Lane; a brother, Gerald Mailloux and his wife Karen of Windham; and his sister, Florence Duquette of Thompson; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Mailloux; and his sisters, Yvonne Hart and Doris Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Eugene's family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St, Putnam, CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 pm in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in West Thompson Cemetery, West Thompson. Memorial Donations in Eugene's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
