Lulu was the daughter of Homer Pease and Sarah Elizabeth (Kinney) Stebbins and grew up in Atchison, Kansas. Her husband's obituary indicates she is also from Zellwood, Florida.

She was married 3/11/1891 in Atchison to Rev. George Schmucker Diven (b. 2/10/1860, d. 6/3/1940), a Lutheran minister. Rev. Diven was a son of Rev. W. H. Diven, a Lutheran minister who served in Pennsylvania.

They had at least three children. George Stebbins (# 94387394) who was born in Knoxville while his father was the supply pastor of St. John's English Lutheran Church. Ruth Alice (b. 4/1/1898) who was born in Trenton, Mississippi and married John James Carter. Clovis (b. 4/5/1901, d. 1/14/1902) who was born in Mississippi.

Rev. Diven and Lulu served in many different places. In 1908, he began a five year pastorate of the Ickesburg Lutheran Charge in Perry County, Pennsylvania. In 1913, he retired from the active ministry.

In 1935, they were located in South Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.

On June 3, 1940, Rev. Diven passed away in Jacksonville, Florida.
