Rev. James Moody and wife Jane had a son named Daniel J. Moody b. 26 Jan 1834, d. 1 Nov 1910. He married Mary Ann Hamilton on 5 Feb 1863 in Macon Co., Mo. Her last name was spelled Hambleton on the marriage record.

1870 U S Census: Daniel Moody age 33 b. abt 1837 in Kentucky, occupation -farmer and wife, Mary Moody, 24 yrs b. abt 1846 in Kentucky. They are living in Jackson, Macon, Missouri. In spite of the birth/age for Daniel these appear to be one and the same.

After Mary's passing, Daniel moved to Texas in the same year and married Nancy E. (or Nannie E.) Robertson 27 Mar 1890 in Williamson Co., TX. They had two children: Mary Robertson b. Jun 1891 and Daniel James Jr. b. Jun 1892 both in Williamson County, TX. Daniel James Jr. went on to be the 30th Governor of TX.
