Death of Mrs. H.O. Bates:
Mrs. Caroline C. Bates, 71, wife of Harry Ogden Bates and sister of the late Senator W. Murray Crane, died this afternoon at her home. She was born in Dalton and 47 years ago was married to Mr. Bates. For many years they lived in Morristown, N.J. and they came to Dalton to make their home in 1914. Mrs. Bates was a member of the Dalton Congregational Church. She is survived by her husband and one son, Harry Odgen Jr., one daughter, Miss Caroline C. Bates and one sister, Miss Clara L. Crane, all of Dalton.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at the home and will be private. Rev. Ralph Timberlake, pastor of the Congregational church, will oficiate and burial will be in the Dalton cemetery.
