MULLINS - T. D. Williams, retired merchant, died Thursday morning at the Sunny Acres Rest Home following an illness of several years. Born October 5, 1879, he was the son of the late T. D. and Ida Smoak Williams.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. During the years of declining health he was appointed an honorary deacon.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ola Daniel Williams; two sons, T. D. Williams, Jr. of McColl and James O. Williams of West Columbia; two brothers, John M. Williams of Mullins and former Gov. Ransome J. Williams of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Mrs. Richard Walters of St. George; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Lewis E. McCormick, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Burial, directed by Meares Funeral Service, will be in the Cedardale Cemetery.
