WM. CRAWFORD, 84, SUCCUMBS
William J. CRAWFORD, 84, passed away at his home in Batavia at 2:20 this morning. He had been in failing health for the past year.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret SISSON, to whom he was married on February 18, 1877. Also surviving are five sons, Guy, Ralph and Earl, all of Batavia; Wayne of Libertyville; Ernest of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. GILLASPIE, Packwood; and Mrs. Guy SALTS, Batavia. One daughter, Virginia, and two sons, Charles and Donald preceded him in death.
William CRAWFORD was born February 20, 1860 in Phillips (sic. Phelps ?) county, Missouri, the son of Abraham (sic. Abram) and Martha CRAWFORD. He had been engaged all his life in farming in Jefferson county until he retired four years ago and moved to Batavia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Methodist church in Batavia, in charge of Rev, H. H. Stark. Interment in the Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield.
