San Juan Prospector dated March 12, 1925
Death entered another home in this community on March 6, 1925 and called a young mother from her earthly home. The death of Ida Goodman Wheeler came as a result of appendicitis with complications. She had been seriously ill for only a few days.
Ida Acesta Goodman Wheeler was born in Del Norte on Sept. 7, 1900 and died at Del Norte on March 6th at the age of twenty-four. Ida Goodman was reared in this community and was a product of the Del Norte schools. She was united in marriage to Barnett Wheeler on Dec. 20, 1919, soon after his return from France where he was in active service during the war. She was the only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Goodman.
Those left to mourn her death besides her parents are her husband and four year old daughter, Wealthy, so named because at the time of her birth, she was lucky in having great grandparents as well as four grandparents; also a brother, Oscar Goodman, as well as grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Don Sanders and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins, most of them living in this community.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon with Rev. Burr and Rev. John B. White in charge.
