Services were held this Thursday afternoon at Sharp & Doney Chapel for Lawrence Wasson, 92, who died Monday at the Willowcrest home. He was a long-time resident of Del Norte up to several years ago when he moved to Monte Vista.
He was a member of the Methodist church and had been a member of Coronado Lodge 25, Knights of Pythias for over 50 years.
He was a native of Illinois, came west to Kansas and then to Colorado. Mrs. Wasson died in 1932. He was a farmer and for years had the place on No. 112 just across the river bridge.
Survivors are three daughters, Margarite, Nellie, and Carol Lee; a step-daughter, Dorothy Chadwell; son Marvin; and two sisters. Two daughters, Maybelle and Cleo are deceased.
Knights of Pythias were in charge at the cemetery and the pallbearers were Bill Kernen, Ernest Black, Russ Crawford, Dutch Martz, Earl Rice and Jack vonBernuth.
