William L. Slout, 81, a resident of South Fork, died early Saturday. He was the son of Edward G. Slout and Clara Shaw Slout, and was born at the Shaw Ranch east of South Fork in 1892. He grew up in the area, ranching at the Willow Creek home place, and married Hazel Repsher in 1915. He was a member of Masons and served as a deputy sheriff under Clyde Phillips and Art Webster. Her is survived by his wife, daughter Ileen, Wichita, son Bill, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
