He was Township Clerk 1954-1956 Township Supervisor (Equivalent to Mayor)1860-1863 1865-1867 1871-1879 His election as Sheriff in 1880 caused the family to move to Mount Clemens. Macomb, and later moved to Detroit Michigan

Louis GROESBECK's Father Louis GROESBECK SR was a Warren Twp Pioneer, back in the days when the Township was called Hickory, the first town meeting was held at his home in April 3rd 1937 in Section 28 at Sherwood and 10 Mile at which time he was elected as a overseer of the poor. He was also a lumberman.
