US Congressman. Elected to represent Kentucky's 9th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1887 to 1889. He was defeated in 1870. Also served as a Member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives from 1859 to 1863, and 1872 to 1873, County Judge in 1868, Candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky in 1871, Circuit Judge from 1874 to 1880, United States District Attorney for Kentucky from 1881 to 1885, and Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Kentucky in 1884.
