U.S. Senator. Successful as an independent oil and gas producer, he was a member of the Louisiana State House of Representatives, (1932-36). With the death of Senator John H. Overton, he was appointed by Louisiana Governor Robert Minden to fill the vacancy, serving May 18, 1948, to December 30, 1948. After leaving the Senate, he continued his former business interests until his death at age 69. The Feazel Chapel at the First Baptist Church in West Monroe Louisiana, is named in his honor.
