US Congressman, US Senator, New Jersey Governor. Elected to represent New Jersey's 4th District and as At-Large in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1805 to 1809. Also served as a Member of the New Jersey State Legislature in 1780, Governor of New Jersey from 1802 to 1803, and United States Senator from New Jersey from 1809 to 1815.
