Charlotte Nelson Meriwether Randolph was the second wife of Thomas Jefferson Randolph, Jr., who was the son of Thomas Jefferson Randolph (1792 - 1875) and Jane Hollins Nicholas Randolph (1798 - 1871) and the great-grandson of Thomas Jefferson.

Charlotte Nelson Meriwether Randolph was first cousin to T.J. Randolph Jr.'s first wife, Mary Walker Meriwether Randolph (with whom he had 6 children). Mary died in 1863 and T.J. Randolph Jr. married Charlotte in 1865. Family history maintains that Mary and Charlotte were raised "almost as sisters."

Charlotte and Thomas had 2 children. The eldest was Mary Walker Randolph Randolph (1866 - 1957). Mary Walker Randolph married her cousin, Dr. William Mann Randolph, and is buried at Monticello. They had 4 daughters and three sons. A fourth son died in childhood @ 1906.

Charlotte and Thomas' second child, also a daughter and named for her mother, was born in 1868 and died in 1870.
