James William Baudreau, 78 years of age, of Braintree recently of Largo, Florida entered Life Eternal at the Boston Medical Center on Thursday, September 8, 2011. He was born at Wakefield, and lived in Dorchester before moving to Largo, Florida in 1993. He came to reside with his daughter, Brenda Begin, several months ago although he made many earlier visits to Braintree. Bud was a fifty year member of the Pipe Fitters Local 537 in Boston and had worked as a Pipe Fitter for many years. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He loved to play the organ and became an accomplished organist. He was a former roller skating instructor in Dorchester and he enjoyed skating and playing pool. Bud was adept at painting with acrylics. He is the beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Knox) Baudreau and the loving father of Brenda M. Begin married to Robert J. Begin of East Braintree and Richard P. Baudreau married to Samantha Baudreau of South Attleboro, and the late James William Baudreau Jr. He is survived by his brother, Robert Baudreau of Lebanon, N.H. and his sister, Gail Donnelly, of Nashua, N.H. He was the brother of the late Jean Way of Amherst, N.H. He is the loving grandfather of Michael James Begin of Braintree and Nicholas Michael Edwards and Matthew Robert Edwards both of South Attleboro. He is survived by his loving companion Ruth Dyer of Largo, Florida. A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck | Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Monday, September 12 at 11 a.m. The Reverend Earl Alger interim pastor of the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree will officiate. Burial will follow at the Village Cemetery, Weymouth Landing. Visiting hours will be Sunday, September 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Elberta Hobart will present a musical interlude during the visiting hours from 6 to 7 p.m. utilizing Buds favorite organ selections and she will also play at the funeral service. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree, 74 Commercial Street, East Braintree, MA. 02184.
