US Congressman. Elected to represent Massachusetts' 14th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1915 to 1921. He was defeated as Democratic in 1920. Also served as a Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in 1903, Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Massachusetts in 1912, and Member of the Massachusetts State Legislature.
