Richard E. "Swede" Ericson, age 84, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 15, 2009. Born in Roselle Park, NJ he resided in Union prior to moving to the Holiday City section of Berkeley Twp. 15 years ago. Richard served in the United States Navy during WWII, in the Pacific Theatre on the Duty Destroyer, John D. Henley 553.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rose, of 62 years; his daughter, Linda, and her husband Richard; a son, Steve, and four grandsons, Kevin, Reed, Bryce, and Pierce.
The family will receive friends Friday July 17, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ 08757. A Mass will be offered 10:00am Saturday July 18, 2009 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, NJ. Committal private.
