US Congressman. Born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, he graduated from Transylvania University in 1820. Admitted to the Kentucky State Bar Association, he commenced the practice of law in first in Mount Sterling, then later in Fulton, Missouri. In 1834 he was elected as a Jacksonian Democrat to represent Missouri as an At-Large Delegate to the United States House of Representatives, and served two terms from 1835 until 1839. He died just six months after leaving office.
