Charles Frederick Seitz was born in Wapakoneta. He graduated from Blume High School in 1943, and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II. He graduated from Ohio Northern University with a law degree in 1951.
Charles married Shirley Louise Bennett on August 19, 1950 in Lorain, Ohio. They had 3 children; Eric, Robin, and Corey. He worked for the Exide Corporation in Reading, Pennsylvania as Corporate Director of Labor Relations. They later moved to Lexington, Ohio. Charles died in a hospital in Mansfield, Ohio from cancer at the age of 72. He was survived by his wife, 3 children, and 3 grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wapakoneta and the Valley of Dayton Consistory.
