US Senator. He served as a United States Senator from Maryland from 1838 to 1845. Served in the United States Army during the War of 1812. Also served as a Member of the Maryland State House of Delegates from 1832 to 1837, and 1856 to 1857, and Delegate to the Maryland State Constitutional Conventiion in 1850.
