US Congressman, New Hampshire Governor. Elected to represent New Hampshire in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1829 to 1835. Also served as a Member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives from 1812 to 1815, 1819 to 1820, and 1823 to 1827, State Court Judge from 1827 to 1829, United States Senator from New Hampshire from 1835 to 1841, and Governor of New Hampshire from 1842 to 1844.
