Robert Lee "Bob" Poe, age 75, of Pearcy, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

He was born on September 9, 1935, at Chilhowie, Virginia, the son of Charlie Poe and Vida Brewer Poe. On February 1, 1981, he was married to Susan Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Michael Poe, Ralph Poe and Larry Poe; one sister, Madeline Poe, and one grandson, David Schmidt.

Bob moved to Arkansas in 1982 with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, making this a perfect move for him. Bob earned his living as a carpenter, after retiring from the United States Navy after 25 years of service. He was Baptist in faith.

He is survived by his wife, Susan E. Poe of Hot Springs; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Donna Poe, and Ronald Poe, all of San Diego, California, and David Schmidt and Robert Schmidt, both of Las Cruces, New Mexico; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Barbara Poe Ferroisa and Caesar Ferroisa, Jr. of Menahga, Minnesota, Shelia Poe Blake and J.R. Blake of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Emily Edwards of Colebrook, New Hampshire, Laura Baber and Adrian Baber of Benton, and Elizabeth Ballentine and Charles Ballentine of Pencil Bluff; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carl and Dorothy Poe, of Chilhowie, Virginia, Dean Poe of Nashville, and Gerald Poe of Johnson City, Tennessee; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, May West of Durham, North Carolina, Magdaline Elledge of Marion, Virginia, Opal and Lewis E. Doane of Chilhowie, Virginia, Jean and Tracy Smith of Story, Linda and James Butler of Flint, Texas and Maxine and Alan Martin of Chilhowie, Virginia; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2011, Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock, with Bro. Jimmy Bundy and Bro. Charles Ballentine officiating under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Military Honors will be presented by members of the United States Navy and the Thaddeus H. Caraway V. F.W. Post #2278.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Poe, Dean Poe, Gerald Poe, Michael Poe, Ralph Poe, Larry Poe and Tracy Smith.
