Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2002 for John Baldwin Daniel, who died on November 12, at his home in Black Mountain, NC. The services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Liberty. Interment will follow at the Daniel Family Cememtery in Liberty. Mr.Daniel was born on April2, 1948, in Austin, TX. He was educated in the public schools of Austin and Liberty, graduating from Liberty High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1977, majoring in political science and journalism. He also attended Montreat-Anderson College, Montreat, NC, where he was employed at the L. Nelson Bell Library.
Mr. Daniel was the author of THIS POOR MAN CRIED, a collection of devotionals on Psalm 34, and he served as a contributing writer for the Citizens Advocate,Coppell, TX.
A devout Christian, Mr.Daniel was a member of the Montreat Presbyterian Church and was a regular visitor of the First United Methodist Church, Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his father, Price Daniel, and his brother Price Daniel Jr. He is survived by his mother, Jean Baldwin Daniel, of Liberty, his sister, Jean Daniel Murph, and her husband David R. Murph of Grapevine, his brother, Houston Daniel and his wife, Charlotte, of Liberty.
