PIONEER DOCTOR, SPANISH WAR VET DIES FRIDAY AT 93. Evanston—

Dr. Wilson F. McDill, 93, one of the oldest and last veterans of the Spanish American War, died Friday, Oct. 29, in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City where he had been a patient for the past two years.

He was born June 2, 1878 in Afton, Iowa, a son of James W. And Narcissa Fullenwelder McDill.

He married Winifred Jones in 1909 in Kemmerer and she died in 1918. He married Nettie Gerrard in 1926 in Salt Lake City and she died in 1927. He married Eve Anna Eskridge Stevens on March 23, 1929 in Ogden, Utah.

He was a veteran of the Spanish American War and was a medical officer in World War I.

He came to Wyoming in 1907 and was licensed to practice medicine. He worked as a physician in the coal camps of Rock Springs, Superior, Dines and Kemmerer. He came to Bridger Valley in 1927 and made his home in Lyman where he practiced until 1960.

Her was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post No., 36 at Fort Bridger, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Medical Assn.

He is survived by his widow, Evanston; a son and two daughters; Robert, Evanston; Mrs. Phyllis Mates, San Francisco, Calif; and Mrs. Blanche Furlong, Salt Lake City; 2 stepsons and 4 stepdaughters; C.E. (Bill) Stevens, Warren, Ore,; Bud Gerrard, Riverton, Wyo.; Mrs. Frances Rogers, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Mary Allessandri, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Del (Ida) Watson, Fort Bridger, Wyo.; and Mrs. Dorris McGuffin, Phoenix, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Mountain View Presbyterian Church. Friends may call at the Gilbert Bills Funeral Home in Evanston Tuesday prior to services in the church. Burial will be in the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
