Cecil Edward Hood, 55, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, September 14, at a local hospital.
A lifelong resident of Hot Springs, he was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Hot Springs and worked for Hill and Cox General Contractors for 12 years. He was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Hood of Hot springs; one son, Steve Edward Hood of Hot Springs; one daughter, Lisa Gail Hood of Hot Springs; six sisters, Joyce Bonner of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kay Jackson of Malvern, and Helen Warren, Josephine Crawford, Verline Montgomery and Ervline Breshears, all of Hot Springs; seven brothers, John Bedford Hood of Slidell, Louisiana, Jerry Hood, Ray Hood, Bob Hood, Ronald Hood, James Hood and Wayne Hood, all of Hot Springs; his mother-in-law, Katherine Vancil of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gross Funeral Home.

Services for Cecil Edward Hood, 55, of Hot Springs, who died Thursday, September 14, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. B. F Glidewell and Charlie Chambers officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Hood, Ken Crawford, Greg Hood, Mike Hood, Buster Warren and Rick Hood.
Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Gross Funeral Home.
