John Johnson was the last Chancellor of Maryland when the High Court of Chancery was abolished in 1851 by the Maryland constitution. He also held a position in the Maryland House of Delegates in 1836 as well as the Clerk of Marylands Court of Appeals from 1829 t0 1836.
