Township, at 1:20 o'clock yesterday, reached the city this morning. Mr. Bricker
was a prominent citizen of the county and has long been identified with the best
interests of the people. He was a staunch Democrat and at one time quite
prominent in local politics.
The deceased had suffered for the past five weeks with cancer of the liver. He
was about 66 years old and leaves a wife and twelve children, nine of whom are
still living at home and three are married. Mr. Bricker had, by hard work and
economy, accumulated an estate valued at $75,000, consisting of 595 acres in
Richland County and 640 acres in Iowa, the latter being under the management of
his son Charles. Mr. B. was one of the original '49 California pioneers and had
crossed the continent twice. The funeral will take place Tuesday at 10 o'clock
from his late residence in Jackson Township.
