He was a Pioneer Settler in Clinton &
Frankln Counties, and as a Surveyor
explored and located some of the towns
in this then unbroken wilderness,
He passed many years in this neighborhood, and participated in its developments;
in which he was largely interested. He
held various positions of Public Responsibility
and enjoyed the Esteem and Love of all
who knew him.

He was the son of Col. John BAILEY of Poughkeepsie and Altje VAN WYCK
