U.S. Congressman. Born in Rochester, Vermont, he attended Tufts College Massachusetts, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1878 and commenced to practice law at Napoleon, Ohio. He was prosecuting attorney for Henry County Ohio, (1893-96). In 1905, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth Congress, serving until 1907. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law and was a member of the Ohio State constitutional convention, (1911-12). He died at age 74 in Napoleon, Ohio.
