Merrill Edward Perry, 69, long time resident of Logan and avid reader of obituaries passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 in an attempt to get his own spot on the page. Merrill was born June 14, 1938 in Malad, ID, to George Helm and Norma Smith Perry. Merrill went into the service in September 1961 where he liked to irritate the officers by calling out "Merrillee Perry" during role call. He was later released from the Military on a hardship discharge due to his father's illness. This allowed him to return to work on the family farm in Arbon, ID. Merrill was married to Marilyn Misrasi April 4, 1964. They had three children together and were later divorced. He had a life-long love for fast cars, gin-and-tonic, television, and sports. He married the love of his life, Kelly Ann Kidman in 1996. They enjoyed many years playing, traveling and working together at the family business, Wheatland Milling, in Collinston, UT. He never lost the sense of adventure that frequently landed him in trouble as a youth, and today Merrill's loved ones describe him as generous, witty, wise, and accepting. Merrill's quirky, sense of humor will be greatly missed as he always said exactly what he was thinking (sometimes to the dismay of his family and friends). Merrill is survived by his wife, Kelly; daughter, Kim (Marty) Thorpe; two sons, Greg Perry and Evan Perry; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (Wally) Sjoblom and Marsha Perry; two brothers, George (Diona) Perry and Robert (Winona) Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1st at the Nelson Funeral Home located at 162 E. 400 N., Logan UT (the family asks that guests do not play April Fool's Day pranks during the service). Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Monday evening or at 11:00 Tuesday morning to pay their respects
